Madden has been doing loads of speedy passes thus
The thing that is funny concerning Madden -- the only NFL licensee of a videogame franchise Madden 22 coins, now 34 years going -- is that, despite its enormous popularity, there is nothing you hear is people complaining about it.
The biggest complaint, echoed frequently, is that every season's latest version is a slight upgrade over the last. Because EA Sports has the exclusive license, it's the only company to create a "simulation-style" NFL game. It is a reason to believe that the game's creator is under no pressure to meaningfully improve the game each year. In 2020, a viral twitter campaign was launched to urge the league to release EA as its partner - #NFLDropEA. However, despite the social media outrage that also included coordinated review bombing of this game's Metacritic pages, Madden 21 sales were in the ascendancy. This year's Madden 22 did well, too, and Madden is still the highest-selling sports franchise ever. The critics are part of the minority that is vocal, but a minority whose job it is to be extraordinarily vocal. I'm talking about YouTubers who earn a living by in streaming videos and while playing a game they claim they hate. The wide range of YouTubers' areas of focus shows how huge the game these days. There are YouTubers like Belton who post footage of themselves playing in various games; there's an array of people who post strategies and tips buy madden coins; and then there are those dedicated to dunking on Madden. |
